This project empowers rural Rwandan women by digitizing women-led savings groups with smartphones and training. So far, 2,250 women across 90 groups have replaced error-prone paper records with a simple app, improving financial accuracy, reducing conflict, and unlocking income-generating potential in their communities.
In rural Rwanda, most women-led savings groups still use pen and paper to track savings and loans. This leads to miscalculations, disputes, and lack of trust. Without digital tools, women struggle to make informed decisions or grow their businesses, trapping them in cycles of low income and exclusion.
We provide smartphones and financial literacy training to women's savings groups, enabling them to use a user-friendly bookkeeping app. Women become confident digital users, access real-time savings data, reduce group conflict, and gain the skills to launch or grow small businesses.
Digitizing 86more groups will equip 2,150 additional women with digital tools to lead in the local economy. As women increase their income and confidence, families grow stronger, communities thrive, and rural women lead the way in building a more inclusive, tech-powered future.
