Safe Water Project: Construction Yet to Begin

Dear Donors,

For many children in rural Nigeria, getting drinking water is still a daily struggle. Some families depend on streams, ponds, and shallow wells because they have no reliable source of safe water nearby. Children may have to walk long distances to fetch water before going to school, while parents worry about the health risks associated with the water their families use every day.

No child should have to choose between getting to school on time and helping their family find water. No parent should have to worry that something as ordinary as giving their child a drink could make them sick.

This is why Clarion Times Foundation launched Help Rural Children Access Safe Drinking Water, a project that seeks to provide solar-powered boreholes in underserved communities, bringing safe drinking water closer to homes and schools.

We want to be open with you about our progress. Construction has not yet started because we have not raised enough funds to cover the cost of installing a functioning solar-powered borehole.

The work requires drilling, water quality testing, solar-powered pumping equipment, water storage tanks, pipes, and installation. We believe it is important to secure sufficient funding before construction begins so that the project does not stop halfway, leaving families without a completed water system.

Although we have not yet reached the construction stage, our goal remains the same: to help children and families gain access to safe drinking water.

Our immediate priority is to continue raising the funds needed to begin construction. Once sufficient resources are available, we plan to move forward with the necessary technical preparations, drilling, installation, and water quality testing before the borehole is made available for community use.

We hope that when this project becomes a reality, children will spend less time searching for water and more time attending school, studying, and enjoying their childhood. We also hope that parents will no longer have to depend on unsafe water sources for their families' daily needs.

We understand that progress may feel slow, but we would rather share an honest account of where things stand than report activities that have not yet taken place.

To everyone who has supported this project, we are sincerely grateful. Your kindness, patience, and belief in our work mean so much to us.

We know that the children and families this project hopes to serve are still waiting. Their need for safe drinking water has not changed, and neither has our determination to help.

We look forward to sharing better news with you when construction begins. Until then, we will continue working toward making safe drinking water accessible to children and families who need it.

Thank you for caring, for believing in this project, and for standing with us.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Adaego Imoh
