This past month we have been able to finish updating, enlargening, and improving an enclosure in our sanctuary for the resident ocelot, Leo. He was brought to us after someone attempted to sell him as a pet. Unfortunately, he is too habituated to be released back into the jungle.
He has a great new enclosure with a small pond and stream with different substrates to interact with as well as a makeshift 'cave' to try and make his habitat as natural as possible. We are so excited to have so many great improvements.
We also recently received a pregnant three-fingered sloth that fell with a tree during a storm, but unfortunately she sustained injuries that she could not recover from even with all of our experts treating her.
Another sloth, but the two-fingered species, arrived as it has pneumonia and is a little young to be alone. We have been treating this young one and anticipate a full recovery.
Thank you all again for your support and we look forward to sharing our next great news!
