I am not sure why I am continually surprised, but each time there is an opportunity with GlobalGiving like the July Bonus Day, I am blown away with how our supporters near and far help us take advantage of the potential bonus' we can earn.
With the matching funds and your donations, we were able to raise and earn $5422 USD in just one day!
This will cover the clinic medications, veterinarian cost, and food for at least a month if not more. This is amazing in helping us continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and release the wildlife of Costa Rica.
While we are still beaming with appreciation of you and excitment to continue our work, we have still received animals in need of our help.
We have an adult two-fingered sloth in our clinic that appears to have been attacked by another animal, but we don't know for sure as it was found in the middle of the road so with the wounds and location it was found we have differing theories.
It did lose one eye, but has been recovering well and is growing stronger by the day.
A pelican that came in needed surgery to remove a hook it had swallowed. Fortunately someone spotted the fishing line from the mouth and it was brought to our care. Our veterinarian and a visiting veterinarian were able to successfully remove the hook and the Pelican is on the road to recovery. It is still in intensive care but in great hands.
Thank you again for your support and we plan to keep this momentum going to care for and improve our facilities for the wildlife that arrive.
Ciao and Gracias from Costa Rica!
