The nation of Afghanistan is in turmoil and many families have fled from their homes, seeking safety. We have 300,000 internal refugees and 80,000 children who lack shelter and food. Many people have come to AIL facilities; our centers, offices and clinics are overwhelmed with needy people. We need funds to purchase food and provide clothing, shelter supplies, school supplies, medicines and hygiene items like soap, masks and sanitizers.
Afghanistan is in turmoil with the sudden takeover by the Taliban after 20 years of peace. Many families have fled and are now IDPs. Our facilities have been inundated with needy people. There is a huge demand for food, medicine, clothing, blankets and hygiene items.
Food aid such as oil, beans, rice and tomato paste will be provided to refugee families. AIL will provide cooked meals as well. Hygiene essentials and medicine will be dispensed where needed.
Refugee families need help now. They fled their homes taking only what they could carry and now are hungry and lack shelter. We need to stabilize their situation provide food and shelter and provide for medical needs. What the future holds for them we do not know but we can help with their current situation.
