Following the demolition of the School of Second Chance in the Old Medina of Casablanca, Tibu Africa mobilized its teams and partners to ensure that vulnerable children, youth, and women would not lose access to education, guidance, employability support, and social inclusion opportunities.
During this reporting period, important progress has been made toward restoring these services and creating sustainable alternatives for the communities previously served by the school.
One of the main achievements has been the rehabilitation of a new educational facility in Derb Ghalef, Casablanca. The space has been renovated and adapted to provide a safe and functional learning environment, including improved classrooms, training areas, educational equipment, and furniture. It now serves as an alternative space allowing educational and social inclusion activities to continue following the demolition of the former School of Second Chance.
A second major milestone has been the development of a new School of Second Chance dedicated to Sports Professions in Bouznika, Province of Benslimane. The initiative was officially launched through the laying of the foundation stone and a partnership with the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports. The future program will combine professional training, work-based learning, career guidance, employability support, and professional immersion opportunities, with approximately 1,300 hours of training over 12 months.
During this reporting period, the activities included in the project response reached:
In total, 271 beneficiaries were reached during the reporting period.
These actions have helped preserve access to education and support services, strengthen pathways toward employability, and create new learning environments adapted to the needs of vulnerable communities.
Important work remains ahead. Rehabilitation and development activities are still ongoing, and additional resources are required to complete infrastructure improvements, equip classrooms and training spaces, expand services to more beneficiaries, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the new facilities.
During the next reporting period, Tibu Africa will focus on completing rehabilitation works at the Bouznika facility, equipping learning and training spaces, expanding educational and employability services, increasing beneficiary outreach and enrollment, strengthening institutional and private-sector partnerships, and monitoring the impact of the activities implemented.
We sincerely thank the GlobalGiving community for supporting Tibu Africa during this important transition. Together, we are helping transform the loss of one educational space into new opportunities for learning, inclusion, and empowerment.
