Inspiring Girls International Global Report Summary 2022
Thanks to generous support from donors like you, Inspiring Girls had a hugely succesful year, coming out of the difficulties we all faced from 2020/2021 lockdowns with local covid restrictions having had an especially disruptive impact on schools and children's access to education around the world. Join us in celebrating everything that you helped us to achieve across our Inspiring Girls network in 2022.
Last year, our amazing global network achieved the following:
At Inspiring Girls HQ, we were delighted to welcome to new country teams; Slovakia and The United Kingdom, alongside a new cohort of Young Ambassadors, who joined us in October. The Young Amabassador Network continues its success as we develop the alumuni to join our mission long-term! You can hear from one of our wonderful Young Ambassadors here:
"Being an Inspiring Girls Young Ambassador in 2021/2022 has made me feel so much more confident. Representing my entire country has made me feel so capable and that I can do anything! I will be grateful to have had this opportunity for the rest of my life!!"
Anonymous, 15, from Italy.
Also in Autumn 2022, we were so excited to be asked to join an out-of-this-world iniatitive with our global partner, Barbie Mattel! Around International Day of The Girl (11th October) we participated in an initiative with Barbie and the European Space Agency to engage more girls around the world in STEM subjects. The incredibly impressive astronaut (who is ESA's only female astronaut!) answered questions from girls on earth, all the way from the International Space Station! The iniaitive received global news media coverage and we hope that more girls around the works were inspired to pursue STEM subjects! Other exciting campaigns contiuned, such as our #ThisLittleGirlsIsMe campaign, engaging more and more women to become role models by sharing their career pathways and personal journeys that got them to where they are today.
We are deeply appreciative to everyone who lends support to our work, whether that be through donating time to speak with girls or important funds to help us to sustain our programmes. To end this report, we wanted to share a lovely quote from one of the girls who has participated in our work, thanks to your support. Please continue following our journey and sharing our mission amongst your networks! Thank you again for your hugely important support this past year!
"Inspiring Girls is important because I believe that in our society today it is essential to have an organisation like this to help empower girls around the world. We need to encourage girls to believe that they can do anything they set their minds to and believe in themselves so they can have big ambitions for the future!"
Maria, aged 14, from Colombia.
Join us in celebrating everthing we have achieved last year across the Inspiring Girls network.

It has been a busy start of the year for Inspiring Girls International and our 28 Country Teams! Thank you for all of your support, with your kind donations to our crowdfunder, we have been able to bring more Role Models in front of young girls, to inspire and empower them to achieve whatever they want to in life.
International Womens Day 2022
This International Womens Day - Inspiring Girls teams around the world stood up to join the international call to #BreaktheBias. We were and remain united in our call for a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. We are globally connected in imagining a gender equal world that is diverse and inclusive. And beyond International Women's Day, we work with partners and generous supporters like you to continue to #BreaktheBias in our communities, our schools or educational settings and in our work places.
New Corporate Partnerships Launches
Since the start of the year, Inspiring Girls International has launched three new, exciting global corporate partnerships, with Mattel, Blackrock and Bank of New York Mellon Investment Management. Each of the new partners are generously supporting various events, bespoke workshops, Financial Clubs and Video Hub activities across Europe, Asia Pacific and South America. We look forward to updating you later in the year with just some of the exciting activities due to take place, to expand the horizons of young girls around the world to inspire them to aim high!
Young Ambassador Network
Our 2021/2022 Young Ambassador Network cohort have all been super busy this year; the girls have been involved in some interesting recent activities such as interviewing role models and writing their blog articles on topics that are of importance to them in each country. We will share more from our Young Ambassadors in our next report.
Thank you so much for your generous support - each donation you make helps us to raise the aspirations of more girls around the world, and raises their confidence to free them from gender steretypes. We couldn't do this without you, thank you!
We are exceptionally proud of everything that has been achieved by the Inspiring Girls network in 2021!
This year, our wonderful Inspiring Girls Country Teams held 835 events, reached 55,089 girls and registered 2,244 role models. We also welcomed in 9 new global teams in Australia, Algeria, Belgium, Guatemala, Jersey, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and Russia. This means we are starting 2022 with Inspiring Girls being active in 28 countries around the world!
We are 100% donor funded, so it is only thanks to generous donations from people like you that we can continue to expand our work to help young girls to dream big and apsire to any career they want in life.
2021 Highlights
Our very first Global Ambassadors graduated from their positions in October this year, after having represented their countries and the charity fantastically for the last 12 months! And we are delighted to announce that we have already inaugurated another 14 fantastic Young Ambassadors to the Global Young Ambassadors Network for 2021-2022.
The Young Ambassadors are young women who are passionate about the aims and values of our growing charity and will advise and support the work we do around the world. They are change-makers and we are proud to work alongside them to break down barries posed by gender stereotypes, which still exist in most societies around the world today.
To mark International Day of the Girl 2021, we launched an ambitious new global campaign called #ThisLittleGirlisMe. The aim of the campaign was to make female role models easily available to girls on social media, by flooding our Instagram feed with inspirational women sharing their stories, so the girls we work with can follow them. The campaign was a huge sucess, and we reached an astounding 48 million people around the world via Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook!
In 2021, we also welcomed two new global corporate partners, Toyota and Fedrigoni, who are supporting our work in several countries.
But we are truly most proud of the impact that we are having on the lives of girls around the world.
We are so grateful to each of you that have so generously supported Inspiring Girls in the last year, to help us get closer to acheiving our goal to create a world in which girls' aspirations and careers are not inhibited by gender stereotypes!
Happy holidays and we hope you have a wonderful festive break.
At Inspiring Girls we want to ensure that the work we do is making a difference and with young girls at the heart of everything we do as a charity we want to make sure we are listening to their needs and their voices!
Our first ever Young Ambassadors Network was established almost a year ago - a group of eleven girls aged eleven to sixteen from around the world - and with the support of our GlobalGiving donors in that time we have worked closely with our young Ambassadors to help combat one of the major hurdles they face - a lack of inspiring role models!
Girls demand the right to work towards the professional futures they choose, research shows that gender stereotypes start to affect their perceptions and life choices from as young as seven years old. The work that we do at Inspiring Girls International helps to combat these stereotypes and helps to clarify some of the skills and qualities that will be helpful for the jobs of the future.
------
Over the last year we have worked on a number of different activities with our Young Ambassadors, some of which have been to help them speak to the women who inspire them and others have helped to inform the work that we are doing so that the voices of young girls are truly at the core of our work. We have highlighted some of the many wonderful activities the girls have done since their inauguration on International Day of the Girl in 2020.
Blog Posts:
Over the last year we have encouraged all the girls in our Young Ambassadors Network to write for the Inspiring Girls blog on the topics that are most important to them. Malena, our Young Ambassador from Spain, wrote about some of the books that have inspired her and that she would recommend to other girls her age. In her piece, Quincy from Hong Kong talks about five of the most inspiring women in Hong Kong and Catalina from Colombia wrote about the women in literature who were not only ahead of their time but should have been celebrated much sooner than they were! Most recently, our young Serbian Young Ambassador, Marija, wrote about Mileva Maric the Serbian mathematician and physicist, who was a coworker and the wife of Albert Einstein and whose work is said to have contributed to her husband’s scientific discoveries yet was never celebrated for it.
Video Interviews with their Role Models:
We helped each of the girls with the opportunity to conduct a short 15 minute online video interview with role models from each of their countries to talk about their career journeys, advice and any other topics that might be of interest. The girls so far have interviewed singers, physicists, climate scientists, founders of businesses, neuroscientists and clinical psychologists. With every progressive interview we learn more and more about the questions that are most important to the girls we work with and see the impact that the role models are having on the girls!
Inspiring Girls Video Hub Review:
The Inspiring Girls Video Hub has been one of our largest projects since it launched in 2019 and now we’re so proud to say that we have hundreds of women featured on it across six languages. The purpose of the Hub is to help girls see a true representation of the options they have and just how limitless they are. We are on a mission to continue to improve the content we have on the Hub so that it is even more useful for girls. To do this we worked with our Young Ambassadors to hear what they liked most about the videos they watched, what they thought could be improved and if they could pick anyone to have on the Hub who it would be and why!
------
These are three of the many activities our Young Ambassadors have worked on and without the support we have received from donors on GlobalGiving have helped to make this possible. We are working hard to continue to give the girls we work with the opportunity to speak and collaborate with women role models around the world. Any donation you are able to make to our ongoing crowdfunding campaign will help us on our journey, along with supporting all our work happening in 26 countries around the world.
