Sadly, gendered stereotypes and perceptions affect girls all over the world, and this has a significant impact on their education and their career choices from an early age. Research shows that after the age of 12, girls' confidence in their own abilities drops by 30%, 55% of girls between the age of 7 and 21 say that gender stereotypes affect their ability to say what they think, and girls as young as 6 yrs old consider themselves less bright than boys. Work with us to change this!
Role models play a critical role in breaking down gender stereotypes. Inspiring Girls International seeks to raise the aspirations of girls by connecting them with women from different backgrounds, sectors and life experiences. We do this by working in three ways: in-school programmes and activities, online sessions and our digital resource, the Video Hub. All our resources are free and give the opportunity for women to share their journeys to show the diversity of opportunities for girls.
In 2021, Inspiring Girls held 835 events, reached 55,08 girls! We welcomed 9 new global teams in Australia, Algeria, Belgium, Guatemala, Jersey, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and Russia. According to research conducted by University CEU San Pablo in partnership with Inspiring Girls Spain, Inspiring Girls role model sessions actively reduce the impact of gender-based stereotypes and boost the confidence of the girls involved. With your help we could reach even more girls around the world!
