The project aims to improve school performance of pupils finishing primary school for secondary school in isolated area in the Middle West of Madagascar. It will provide a supply of solar kits. Once home, they will be able in the evening to do homework, revision of lessons and exercises to be well prepared for the secondary school entrance exam. 120 little girls and boys in three hamlets are concerned. In addition, they will receive school bags for notebooks, pens and books for the school year.
120 solar kits for pupils in Ambatofinandrahana District will help them with homework, exercises and review lessons in the evening or at night. The supplies will be used throughout the school year. The bag will be used to protect books, notebooks and supplies from the sun and rain. Such an opportunity will allow children to study in the evenings after housework, and improve their performance. The light provided will also allow eating at night in the light, and the family to chat before sleeping.
By providing this support, notably the solar kit and easy exercise books, we allow pupils to keep studying once home at night. The project will help them to continue their studies after school, an opportunity that did not exist before. It is therefore expected that their performance for the secondary school entrance exams will be improved. They will take the exam with more confidence. This will improve the success rate of children in the 3 hamlets. More children will go to secondary college.
The project will support 120 pupils completing their primary education from 3 remote rural school for secondary school. It's a help to parents for the purchase of school supplies. Then, it will help the child to improve his abilities for the exams. It is an unexpected opportunity for the 10-year-old child to continue education. It's very important, since their upcoming new school is 2 and 8 km from the hamlets where they are living. One school is based about 40 km from the district town chief.
