Good hygiene is a critical step in stopping the spread of COVID-19. As the global pandemic threatens public health, our teams are working urgently on the ground to bring clean water and good hygiene to our communities. Thanks to our resilient model, we have been able to maintain uninterrupted service during this unprecedented time. To support the COVID response:

  • We received approval as an essential service provider, which provides permissions for our field staff to travel across regions for urgent technical and operational activities. PPE, including hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks have been procured and distributed to all field staff.
  • Operators have been directed to restrict consumer physical access to the main water treatment facilities to avoid possible contamination. Furthermore, routine cleaning/ sanitization of stations has been intensified.
  • We have deployed additional vehicles and a ride-sharing schedule for field staff to ensure that they avoid the use of public transport. In addition, hand sanitizer has been provided for all vehicles, and staff has been advised to use it whenever possible.
  • We have supported the Ghana Health Service with national pandemic response messaging through posters at H2OME! Stations and increased health and hygiene education in the communities.

The current COVID-19 pandemic highlights the critical need for reliable safe water supply in low-income communities, not only to prevent and mitigate the impact of public health crises, but to build resilience for the future.

Thank you for helping protect families from disease with the gift of safe water!
