Thanks to your support, we brought cervical cancer screening, vaccines, and HIV testing to nearly 120 women and girls this last quarter. In Dukpa, a remote Abuja community, we paired cervical cancer screening and vaccination, with HIV education and testing.
Vaccinated girls have a reduced risk of getting cervical cancer in the future. People who received HIV counseling and testing know their status, and how to protect themselves and their loved ones from contracting HIV.
Knowledge is a vaccine too
Nearly 9 in 10 women and girls gained new knowledge on how to protect their health, and committed to tell their peers and neighbors about HPV vaccines, cervical cancer screening, and HIV testing. Before the intervention:
