Over 45 million Nigerian women struggle to access essential SRH services due to misinformation, stigma, and high costs. Recent donor cuts have worsened the crisis, limiting HIV testing and reproductive care. This project will create physical and digital safe spaces where women can access STI self-test kits, HPV vaccines, SRH education, counseling, and medical referrals. By providing lifesaving resources, we aim to reduce preventable diseases, curb HIV transmission, and improve health outcomes.
Nigeria faces a severe sexual and reproductive health gap, leaving many women unable to make informed choices. HIV remains a crisis, with young women in underserved areas at high risk. Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, yet HPV vaccination rates are dangerously low. Misinformation, stigma, and funding cuts have worsened access to care. Without urgent action, more women will be at risk, making it critical to restore access to lifesaving SRH services.
This project will provide comprehensive SRH support through educating women on HIV/STI prevention, early detection, and reproductive health, while mobilizing them to demand SRH services leveraging digital safe spaces. We will also distribute free HIV, STI, and cervical cancer self-test kits and vaccines to empower women to detect and prevent health issues early and connect them to trusted healthcare providers including counsellors for follow-up care and treatment.
Expanding access to self-testing, safe spaces, and preventive care will empower women to take charge of their reproductive health, ultimately reducing the spread of HIV and STIs, lowering cervical cancer rates, and unplanned pregnancies and deaths, ensuring more women have the resources to live healthier lives. Our goal is to create a sustainable, community-driven model that addresses the gaps left by reduced global health funding, ensuring that Nigerian women have access to these services.
