Greetings to you from Sri Arunodayam,
The relief work started on 14th Nov 2015 and continues till date as several parts of chennai were hit by rain and subsequent breaching of water bodies. Food prepared by our team and volunteers from all over chennai was distributed to more than 50000 individuals in flood affected areas like kolathur, Thirumal nagar, Sidco, ICF, Sathankadu, Ennore, Thirukandalam Village, Ellapuram Ontrium, Kannagi nagar, Thamaraipakkam, Redhills and Cuddalore. Essential items like mats, bedsheets, clothes and water have already been distributed to more than 2500 families all across these areas. Volunteers have tirelessly been reaching out to those in need for days and nights together. Chennai Corporation has also now joined hands with us to provide support and relief where needed. Rains have subsided and so has the water level, but chennai still needs to recover from losses and stand firm on its feet as before.
We know, we are in your prayers and now is the time to change your thoughts to actions. Though all your help and blessings have made it possible to reach out to the ones in need in these dire circumstances, we urge you to continue the good will and help us to overcome this tough time by doing your bit.
