Dear friends,
Greetings to you from the special children of Sri Arunodayam
I hope you are doing well. All the children are keeping well. Thank you so much for your continuous encouragement and support to Sri Arunodayam. We are happy to share with you the celebration of annual sports and cultural day conducted at Sri Arunodayam
The Sports and Annual Day celebrations at Sri Arunodayam, held on the 26th February 2015, was indeed a delightful and exciting experience for the children. They began the day with much anticipation. Mr. Jaganathan - an IAS Officer and the President of the Rotary Club of Chennai - was our Chief Guest, volunteers and students from Good Shepherd School came to cheer the children along.
The sporting events were conducted at our Madanankuppam Unit, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and included games such as balloon bursting (for the smaller children), lemon and spoon race (where children would try to reach the finish line holding a lemon within a spoon without dropping it), potato gathering, and musical chairs. The children were completely absorbed and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
After this, they began preparing for the Annual Day celebration. Many of the children exhibited their talents by singing and dancing, and our Chief Guest and well-wishers were very appreciative and entertained. The children were given prizes in the form of cups and medals as a way of encouraging and appreciating their efforts. And then, flushed with excitement and much joy, the children finally retired for the day after a healthy and nutritious meal.
