A day in the life of the essential oils healer
By Yungdrung Tenzin | Essential Oils Healer
I am a monk at Menri Monastery in Dholanji. Many years ago, the Abbott asked me to learn about essential oils so that I could use them to heal those who live in the monastery and in Dholanji. I was given some books and I read and studied and collected essential oils. I have hundreds of different oils now. Most of those who want treatment come to me at noon time when we have lunch. If it is something simple, I treat them right then. If it is something new, I ask them to come back the next day. During the evening, I read about their symptoms and then I find the right oils and the next day I treat them. I am very fortunate that everyone has gotten better.

Looking Forward to More Space
By Toc Dunlap | Executive Director, Creating Hope International
Yungdrung Tenzin, the Tibetan Bon monk who is the essential oils healer at the Menri Monastery in Dholanji, India , and his student continue to treat patients at the monastery with essential oils. Recently, Yungdrung Tenzin traveled to France for a visit and he will be collecting more essential oils to bring back to the monastery.
Construction continues on a Tibetan Hospital and Clinic near the monastery. Once completed, the essential oil healers will have a room of their own to treat their patients and store their oils. They are greatly looking forward to this as, presently, they store their oils in metal trunks in their small rooms.
Please remember that Wednesday, June 13th (beginning at 12:01 AM EST) is a Bonus Day through Global Giving. Donations received that day will be provided a matching gift of 30, 40 or 50 percent.

Massage and Essential Oils to Relieve Back Pain
By Toc Dunlap | Executive Director, Creating Hope International
Recently, Yungdrung Tenzin, the self-taught essential oils healer at the Menri Monastery in Dholanji, India, has had several patients with back pain. Yungdrung Tenzin reports that he uses birch, helichrysum and peppermint essential oils along with massage to alleviate the pain and that the treatment has been very successful.
Yungdrung Tenzin and his assistants continue to be very grateful for the donations that have allowed new essential oils to be purchased for their use. As the village that they live in is in a remote area of India, the healers would also be grateful for recommendations and or donations of books in English about essential oils, particularly those that have precise recipes.
Please keep in mind that Wednesday, March 14, 2012 is Bonus Day through Global Giving. Donations up to $1,000.00 will be provided with a 30% match. The bonus allotment is $50,000.00 and the period runs from 12:01 AM EST until the funds are exhausted. So, if you would like your donation to go a little further with the help of Global Giving, give early on March 14th. Thank you!
