During the last period of the year 2020, which maintained the isolation measures in the country due to the health, economic and social emergency caused by COVID19 , the process of accompanying families was successfully completed, in order to strengthen the role of the family as a protective environment for early childhood and as the main agent that promotes the comprehensive development of children.
The following achievements were made during the process:
- Permanent accompaniment to families who understood their role in early Childhood development, learned strategies for managing emotions and stress during the pandemic, techniques on sensitive care and affective bonding with their sons and daughters.
- Strengthening the role of fathers in the care and upbringing of children, from a protective parenting approach, showing a significant level of commitment on the part of fathers and male caregivers in the transformation of family dynamics with positive interactions that favor the integral development of their children under five years of age.
- Improvement of the nutritional status of children diagnosed with acute or moderate malnutrition, with the active participation of families who received guidance to maintain the nutritional status of their children stable.
- Through the delivery of food to prepare, healthy habits and lifestyles were consolidated in families, such as food preparation with good practices, identifying the nutrients necessary to ensure the development of children.
- Active involvement of families in the educational processes of their children, with the delivery of an educational kit for the development of activities based on exploration, play, art and literature.
Significant Experience
Based on a qualification exercise for educational agents, the use of pedagogical tools and strategies to promote the integral development of children with their families was improved through the Reggio Emilia pedagogical model.
Based on this learning, a transfer was carried out with the families to facilitate mothers and fathers to strengthen the emotional bonds with their children, improve their care and interaction dynamics with the children, enhancing their emotional, physical and social development.
At the same time, these actions transcended to the work team, who replicated some of the challenges they promoted with the families in their own homes, favoring these strategies for the care and upbringing of the children.

Attention to 950 children between 9 months and 4 years, 11 months is maintained, developing accompaniment to families by telephone, based on the strategy "My Hands Teach You", of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare.
In September, the pedagogical kit delivery day was held, taking anthropometric measurements to children of the 4 Service Units of the institutional modality in the municipality of Pivijay. Within the framework of this day, families were encouraged to use the pedagogical material with the boys and girls to achieve positive and quality interactions that contribute to or favor their early childhood development.
Likewise, awareness was raised about healthy habits and lifestyles at home in order to guarantee health taking into account the current situation due to Covid-19. Along these lines, actions were also carried out to promote breastfeeding as a vital process for early childhood, through different virtual strategies, such as infographics, videos, challenges, and key messages.
From the psychosocial component, starting in September the development of workshops aimed at families began in order to sensitize parents and caregivers about their role in the integral development of early childhood, affective bonding, and management of emotions and stress during the pandemic; There has been evidence of interest and openness of families to these issues and to the development of proposed activities at home.
The process of harmonious transit of children to the formal educational system is being developed, in coordination with the educational institutions of the municipality, fostering spaces of approach from virtuality to the school.
It is important to highlight:
* The permanent accompaniment of families to promote care and nurturing practices at home.
* The development of challenges and weekly explorations with themes associated with games, literature and art.
* Health and nutrition monitoring of children who are undernourished or at risk, providing guidance to families to improve the nutritional status of their sons and daughters.

Queridos amigos, queremos compartir con ustedes algunas actualizaciones de nuestro proyecto:
Se mantiene la atención a 950 niños entre los 9 meses y los 4 años, 11 meses, desarrollando el acompañamiento a las familias de manera telefónica, con base en la estrategia “Mis Manos Te Enseñan”, del Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar.
En septiembre se realizó la jornada de entrega de kit pedagógico, toma de medidas antropométricas a niños de las 4 Unidades de Servicio de la modalidad institucional en el municipio de Pivijay. En el marco de esta jornada se motivó a las familias a utilizar el material pedagógico con los niños y las niñas para lograr interacciones positivas y de calidad que aporten o favorezcan su desarrollo infantil temprano.
Así mismo, se sensibilizó sobre los hábitos y estilos de vida saludables en el hogar con el fin de garantizar la salud teniendo en cuenta la coyuntura actual por el Covid-19. En esta línea también se realizaron acciones de promoción de la lactancia materna como un proceso vital para la primera infancia, a través de distintas estrategias desde la virtualidad, tales como infografías, videos, retos y mensajes clave.
Desde el componente psicosocial, a partir del mes de septiembre se inició el desarrollo de talleres dirigidos a las familias con el fin de sensibilizar a padres, madres y cuidadores sobre su rol en el desarrollo integral de la primera infancia, la vinculación afectiva y el manejo de emociones y estrés durante la pandemia; se ha evidenciado interés y apertura de las familias frente a estas temáticas y frente al desarrollo de actividades propuestas en el hogar.
Se está desarrollando el proceso de tránsito armónico de los niños al sistema educativo formal, en articulación con las instituciones educativas del municipio, propiciando espacios de acercamiento desde la virtualidad a la escuela.
Es importante resaltar:
* El acompañamiento permanente que se realiza a las familias para promover prácticas de cuidado y crianza en el hogar.
* El desarrollo de retos y exploraciones semanales con temáticas asociadas al juego, la literatura y el arte.
* El seguimiento en salud y nutrición a los niños y las niñas que presentan desnutrición o están en riesgo, brindando orientación a las familias para el mejoramiento del estado nutricional de sus hijos e hijas.

Project report in English
Dear friend, we want to tell you that we have been firmly committed to the development of our children in the context of the Covid-19 virus emergency, so we will tell you about some of the actions that we have been carrying out:
During the COVID-19 quarantine, we have implemented different actions to support the families of the 950 children who are beneficiaries of the institutional modality in the municipality of Pivijay, Colombia. This remote support has focused on:
• Weekly phone calls to the families of the children by the educational agents in order to address 14 care and upbringing practices focused on promoting the integral development of early childhood.
• Monitoring the health status of children by health and nutrition professionals. From this line, one (1) ration to prepare or nutritional packet has been delivered monthly to each family, in order to ensure the feeding of the kids.
• Psychosocial care for families prioritized for identified risk situations.
In this process, we have managed to promote comprehensive development in early childhood, directly involving families, highlighting the leading role they have in the interactions of children, as well as the importance of the family as the first protective environment.
Significant Experience
At the Mariposas de Colores Child Development Center, the strategy called “Las Mañanas con Adonilda” has been implemented in order to promote different and creative communication with children. It consists of the creation of a weekly video where the educational agent addresses some weekly themes or challenges for families, creatively using recyclable material, adapted to the age of the kids.
The activities carried out by the teacher in the video have been replicated by the families, resulting in:
• Families motivated to set the spaces in the home according to the challenges and practices, responding to the planned pedagogical intentions.
• The rapprochement between the educational agent, families, and children has been strengthened.
• Strong family ties are evident.
• The level of commitment and receptivity on the part of the families in relation to the accompaniment process has increased satisfactorily.
• Recursive and creative families, using different elements and materials available in their home to carry out the weekly challenges that are promoted through the video.

Experiencia Significativa
En el Centro de Desarrollo Infantil Mariposas de Colores, se ha desarrollado la estrategia denominada “Las Mañanas con Adonilda” con el fin de propiciar una comunicación diferente y creativa con los niños y las niñas. Consiste en la creación de un video semanal donde la agente educativa aborda algunas temáticas o retos semanales para las familias, usando de manera creativa material reciclable, adaptado para la edad de los niños y las niñas.
Las actividades realizadas por la docente en el video, han sido replicadas por las familias, teniendo como principales resultados:
