This project seeks to promote the integral development of 950 children between 0 and 5 years old through initial education services in the municipality of Pivijay, Colombia; providing support in nutrition, health, education, family integration, and high-quality childcare services. Your donation goes towards precarious infrastructure such as learning materials, classrooms, cribs, dining tables, and chairs, etc. for 4 rural schools in Pivijay.
Babies and children in tough economic, social and affective conditions, cant access high-quality early education, health, and nutrition in rural Colombia (Pivijay). They come from poor homes, torn apart by conflict, mostly from single mothers, carpenters, fishers and fruit sellers. Those families don't have the capacity to educate children in safe and protective environments. Child Development Centers often lack resources (physical, economic, educational) to serve them well.
It will develop and enhance protective environments adapted to the needs of children. It will support the family as a key element in society and as co-responsible in the children's development, the community whole, and early development care centers. Children's capacities and skills will be strengthened, working together with families and care-givers. Healthy lifestyles will be fostered and parents and teachers will be trained. Nutritional complements will be given and health conditions will be.
Thanks to this project, social equality will be promoted and poverty will be reduced. Children will grow with adequate health and education and within a protective environment minimizing their economic, social and affective vulnerability. Families, caregivers, and communities will be empowered as responsible for early development. The physical and mental development of children will set the basis for healthy young and adults with the right ethical values.
