It is WAR. Thousands of mothers with children cross the Ukrainian-Polish border and seek shelter from cruelty and death. At the moment, every 80th person in Poland is a war refugee, and these are only the first days of the conflict. We need your help to wisely help refugees from Ukraine coming to Poland to Zywiec region! We are going to renovate temporary flats in our building for refugees, which can accommodate 16 people and where refugees will receive long term help.
The first days of the war in Ukraine paradoxically showed there are many of good people around us, ready to help. We aware that this help cannot be only temporary, and we all face a long process in which our friends will recover and re-arrange their lives. Currently, the stage of heroic aid is huge, but we know that real problems are coming, help to refugees will be still necessary! We are asking you for the long-term HELP, especially for REGULAR (MONTHLY) DONATIONS, which are crucial to us!
We need financial resources for psychologists and psychotherapists to help deal with trauma. We will organize activities for children coming from Ukraine to distract their thoughts from the nightmare they have experienced (as much as it is possible). We are already preparing a Polish language courses for willing people. In order to be able to respond to real needs, we are soon opening a permanent information desk in Zywiec for refugees, where they will be able to find help.
We know that over time there will be impatience and discouragement among both the refugees coming to Poland and the Poles who host them. Knowing that, it is necessary to organize integration activities with the local community to make all feel understood. People who escape from Ukraine left everything behind: their jobs, their possessions, relatives, friends, loved ones. We want to help them "get back on their feet" and support them in finding employment, and, if possible, provide employment.
