To our generous supporters,
The world has changed a lot since we last checked in and it is my sincerest hope that this will find each of you well and safe as you read about the amazing opportunities your continued support of Keepers of the Wild has created for the animals in our care.
COVID-19 impacted Keepers of the Wild by drastically reducing our monthly income over the past three months. We were lucky enough to experience continuous support from our generous friends and donors who had the best interest of the animals in mind even during their own personal hardships. These acts of kindness helped both to keep us afloat and hopeful about the future of our world.
Last quarter we announced how excited we were to be partnering with US Foods to help save time and money while improving the animals’ diets. This new partnership has proven to be a real winner and we plan to continue it through the foreseeable future. The money we have been able to save on food and products has allowed us to reallocate some funding to the new onsite animal clinic we are in the process of opening.
A building that once served as the original gift shop is now a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic that will help save lives, money, and time while reducing stress on the animals. Currently, it takes precise logistical planning, a strong and knowledgeable crew, various medications, and a one-way transfer trip which takes a minimum of 40 minutes in order to get an animal in need of medical attention to Kingman Animal Hospital. If that sounds like a big task to you, it’s because you’re right- it is! Once the onsite clinic is open, all it will take is the crew, a quick load into a transport, and a two-minute drive up to the animal hospital. Once there, the same incredible crew from Kingman Animal Hospital who has served our animals with the utmost love and technical skill for the past 20 years will provide immediate care. There is even a large public viewing room with a picture window that allows visitors to watch some procedures happening in the operating room for educational purposes!
Every donation we receive on behalf of the animals and mission of Keepers of the Wild is always heartwarming and appreciated but during this uncertain time it means more than ever, and we are grateful to have a strong support base of kind people like you. We look forward to updating you next time with the announcement of the grand opening of the animal clinic and other fun and exciting news you helped make possible.
Wishing you health and happiness until next time,
Lara Kraft
Vice President, Keepers of the Wild
