We feed the hungry by preparing food parcels and warm daily meals. These parcels are distributed to over 250 vulnerable children and families living in extreme poverty across the city. The daily meals are distributed to the homeless through a feeding scheme run every evening, where over 200 gather. During the outbreak of the virus these people are the most vulnerable and we have to ensure that they keep receiving food and nutrition. For some, the only food they receive is through Love Story.
During the outbreak of the virus these people that we usually feed are even more vulnerable as their access to nutrition and basic necessities becomes strained. We need to make sure that they are receiving the nutrition they need in order to keep their immune systems healthy and to keep them fed during this critical time.
In Port Elizabeth, South Africa, our NPO Love Story, feeds the hungry and the poor by preparing food parcels and warm daily meals. These food parcels are distributed to over 250 vulnerable children and families living in extreme poverty across the city. The daily meals are distributed to the homeless through a city center feeding scheme run every evening, where over 200 men, women and children gather. We aim to continue feeding these people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project will feed around 30 000 meals a month to children, women and men in desperate need in our city, ensuring that they are also taken care in during this world wide pandemic.
