Dear friends,
We are pleased to inform you about the completion of the renovation of four pediatric wards in the Surgery Unit of Devashtich District Central Hospital in Tajikistan.
The wards’ renovation was made possible thanks to the generous support of Terre des hommes Germany as a part of our Project on access to quality healthcare for the rural people in Tajikistan. The project has two components: a hard one and a soft one. Under the hard component, we completely renovated four pediatric wards by replacing the deteriorated wooden floor with tiles, replacing the electricity system, installing washing basin, ensuring water supply in each ward and painting the walls and the ceiling. Despite the high fluctuation of construction material prices due to the recent developments between Russia and Ukraine, which have affected the entire world, we managed to save funds and renovate the corridor space leading to the renovated wards. Thanks to our excellent cooperation with the beneficiary hospital, the hospital administration provided brand-new comfortable medical beds and individual cupboards for patients in the newly renovated wards. Now, nearly 35,000 children patients from Devashtich district have access to clean and convenient wards with hot and cold water available in the wards, which is one of the basic requirements for quality healthcare. The improved water supply system enables the patients and healthcare providers to meet the water, sanitation, and hygiene requirements and avoid various infections and nosocomial diseases.
Some pictures of the renovated wards are attached to this report for reference.
We highly appreciate your generosity and kindness towards the vulnerable people in rural communities of Tajikistan.
Dear donors,
Let us refresh your knowledge once again that thanks to your generosity we were able to fully renovate the operating block consisting of two operating theaters and 4 auxiliary facilities, the entire intensive care unit and now four pediatric wards in the Surgery Unit of Devashtich District Central Hospital and we are committed to further continuing this activity to support the local underserved communities in Tajikistan.
Please consider spreading the word about our initiatives among your friends, colleagues, family members and communities to enable us to do more for the underprivileged people in remote areas of Tajikistan.
A BIG THANK YOU for your continued generosity!
