We would like to express our gratitude for your support of Global Backpack Project and the Bwetyaaba Primary School. With your help, we have raised more that $13,000 to support the education of the girls and boys at this school in rural Uganda. These funds purchased sturdy new backpacks, school supplies, and school uniforms for the 650 children attending the school. We are grateful for our partner in Uganda, BUVAD (Butakoola Village Association for Development) for their remarkable work in the community.
Global Backpack Project will no longer be using the Global Giving platform to raise funds for Bwetyaaba Primary School. We are pleased to partner with Investments for Developing Communities (IDC) to continue this support. IDC is a grassroots 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides education sponsorships for girls and micro loans to women in developing countries. IDC parners with organizations working for the betterment of their communities through education and economic development. Please visit http://www.idcempowers.org for more information.
Thank you again for your support of Global Backpack Project and for helping so many girls and boys achieve success through education. We wish you good health and happiness in the new year.
