Roman's philosophical question
Roman's philosophical question

Dear Donors,

Our world looks different now with COVID-19. But that doesn’t mean that we cannot make a difference – in fact, our support is needed now more than ever. We’re excited to let you know about changes in our program that will help you make an impact from wherever you are, whenever you can.

In remote communities of Armenia, people live in extreme poverty. It is difficult for parents to build a prosperous life for their children, as many of them can barely make a living. The goal of our team is to improve the quality of life for children in these families and, most importantly, educate them.

The aim of this project is to help the children to fill the gaps in their knowledge, to feel comfortable in a group, and to learn and work in a friendly environment.

We are again happy to mention that, due to your great impact on this project, you are building a solid basis and strong connection with our beneficiaries.

This time, we instructed our beneficiaries to answer the following question: “How are you, really?” It was very important for us to hear their opinions and answers about this new reality: as there is a pandemic, they should shift to distance education.

We hope that we will have a chance to share happy and important moments with you.

Dear donors,

We would like to inform you that the names of all project participants were changed in order to protect their privacy.

The following is Roman's story and message addressed to our donors.

“Hello, my name is Roman. I am glad to be involved in this program again because, during the pandemic, this program is helping us even more to become stronger, to be educated, and, of course, to make up for missed knowledge. I am sure that this period will end and we will live in peace and freedom. Thank you for helping me – it makes me happy.”

Dear donors,

We continue to support school-aged children in remote communities in Armenia and are ready to share with you the progress that is seen from time to time.

Beneficiaries of this project come to the conviction that education is not really a problem, and their knowledge and skills will be invested in the building of strong and sustainable communities in the near future, as they are the “driving force” of the community.

In this time, the team of Zartonk-89’s NGO organized an open-air meeting that was dedicated to Armenia. The participants were required to divide into teams and to try to depict Armenia on a poster as an “open-air museum”. At the end of the work, each team presented their poster depicting monuments or cultural treasures. It was a very creative and interesting idea that we successfully initiated.

In the next part of the meeting, we organized another task related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beneficiaries were asked to use their creative talent to express how they felt during the epidemic with a drawing. What effect did the coronavirus have on their lives?

The children of our communities show great interest in getting involved in the open classes where they can compose a view of the beautiful scene and, of course, participate in the main educational activities. Due to your support, they played an activating game and each of them had the opportunity to share their own small ideas that they would try to implement after getting motivated with education. They shared their stories with great enthusiasm. By having stationery and art supplies, the beneficiaries were able to portray the ways that will help them to reach their aims.

Your donations were directed to the implementation of a very important process: the provision of children's basic education in our target group. Each step inspires them to be courageous, competent and responsible. We are grateful to you for your support. And your donations were directed to the children’s bright future and an educated society in Armenia.

Dear Donors,

Our world looks different now with COVID-19. But that doesn’t mean we cannot make a difference – in fact, it’s needed now more than ever. We’re excited to let you know about changes in our program that will help you make an impact from wherever you are, whenever you can.

Due to the rapid spread of coronavirus in Armenia, a state of emergency has been declared in our country. Armenian schools are closed and children have to miss their school programs. We provide distance education to our beneficiaries who are school-age children and help them overcome psychological and social challenges. Our organization is starting to implement its current programs and mission remotely.

In remote communities of Armenia, people live in extreme poverty. It is difficult for parents to build a prosperous life for their children, as many of them can barely make a living. The goal of our team is to improve the quality of life for children in these families, and most importantly, educate them.

Our pre-selected pedagogical staff regularly organizes non-formal meetings in these remote regions and in Yerevan, providing beneficiaries with necessary school-based knowledge and "life skills".

Our team has taken a step towards a new way of learning - distance learning. Right now, in this new reality, the mental and psychological stability and health of children are important for us. They understand that this period is transitory, and there are always ways to solve the challenges from it. We encourage children to be patient and, of course, to continue their education online.

Dear Donors,

We want to inform you that we created a coaching group in the Armenian remote regions that support our beneficiaries and control our supervising programs. The members of our group will help us to find solutions to problems that arise during this state of emergency. During this difficult and alarming period, we need your support more than ever and remember that each of your gestures is very important to them. Your support keeps them smiling.

Dear donors,

Thanks to your donations, we continue to support school-aged children living in rural communities. In remote areas of Armenia, people live in extreme poverty. Parents work hard all day long just to feed their children. It is very difficult for parents to raise the educational level of their children and control it.

All of this, of course, has a negative impact on our target group, because they have to help their parents, perform various physical activities, and miss school. To prevent all this and motivate them towards education, we provide psychosocial support to beneficiaries.

Our team regularly organizes courses on non-formal education methodology, which empowers, educates, and supports participants. The children have the opportunity to interact with each other, get involved in teamwork, as well as restore school curriculum and knowledge.

Dear Donors,

We would like to inform you that the names of all project participants were changed in order to protect their privacy.

This time the meeting consisted of individual and team sessions. During the individual work, participants were instructed to write ten things that they do very well individually, in daily life, and ten things that they do well or will do professionally in their work. This provides an excellent opportunity for participants to understand their personal and professional skills and abilities. At the end of the task, everyone presented their work. During the teamwork, the participants were assigned a creative task. They had to portray on the shield the dream community where they would like to live.

This work encourages our beneficiaries to understand the type of prosperous and strong community, and how it can be achieved.

This is how our children are filled with enthusiasm and diligence. Remember that each of your gestures is very important to them. They keep smiling because of your support.

Dear donors and supporters,

Due to your donations, we continue to support the school-aged children living in the rural communities of Armenia.

In remote communities of Armenia, people live in extreme poverty. It is difficult for parents to build a prosperous life for their children, as many of them can hardly even make a living. The goal of our team is to improve the quality of life for children in these families and, most importantly, educate them.

Our pre-selected pedagogical staff regularly organizes informal meetings in these remote regions and in Yerevan, providing the beneficiaries with necessary school-based knowledge and “life skills."

Recently we had a meeting at Zartonk-89 dedicated to friendship ideas and themes. It has had a significant positive impact, especially among school-age children. During teamwork, they discussed how to build a strong and lasting friendship. The participants enthusiastically displayed posters on the human values that help to build true friendship.

In the other part of the meeting, we discussed the importance of teamwork and taught the children about its value. It is very important for us to see their collective strength, as they are future community leaders.

Dear Donors,

We would like to inform you that the names of all project participants were changed in order to protect their privacy.

Thank you once again! We want to share with you an important event and ask for your continued support.

#GivingTuesday is a global movement that kicks off the biggest giving season of the year with charity and gratitude. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world.

Zartonk-89 has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. We would like to celebrate this important and special day with you. Join this movement, make a donation, and help the beneficiaries. Thank you for being with us. Armenian children will continue to benefit from your support.
