Ask is creating self-sustaining Centre for Education in order to provide schooling, tutoring and guidance for children from vulnerable groups. Centre will not only be capable to educate up to 150 children per year but as self-sustainable it will help future generations to build their future through education, benefiting them directly and their communities indirectly.
Transition in Serbia led to lower incomes and left many parents unable to provide for their children basic needs. Many of those children, especially from vulnerable categories of society (Roma, refuges, children without adequate supervision of adult etc.), have become street involved or otherwise susceptible. ASK will help them swap the street with classroom and give them an opportunity to build their future through education, benefiting them directly and their communities indirectly.
Creating a self-sustaining Centre for Education will enable us to provide long term education (additional education on school subjects, languages and arts for younger users and craftsmanship, soft skills and further education guidance and consultations for older users) for street involved or other children from vulnerable groups. It will also help raise visibility, promote their talents and emphasize their problems through exhibitions of their work, public lectures, workshops and master classes.
This project will create a self-sustaining Centre for Education in the heart of Belgrade, in already acquired, easily accessible, space. Centre will have capabilities to educate up to 150 children per year. It will help generations of children from vulnerable groups and encourage them to realize their potential. Furthermore, their communities will also be impacted because education and encouragement will help them raise from poverty and show good examples to their peers in the community.
