Umer was a resident of an area in Karachi called Khuda ki Basti. He was in 5th grade when his father died, and he knew since then that he had to make something of himself and take care of his mother.
He joined AmanTech when it was very new. He was from the first few batches. He was passionate and determined to do something worthwhile, and so he would make a 4 hour commute to AmanTech daily.
The Career Services team of AmanTech was very dedicated. They counseled the students, found job opportunities for them, held workshops for them, and prepared them for interviews. Due to his hard work, and because of the efforts of AmanTech’s career services team, Umer was able to get a job in Dubai.
His mother is extremely proud of him. She says “He calls me every day now and talks to me. It’s the best part of my day. My heart swells with happiness for him. Umer had a dream and he turned it into a reality. Sending him to AmanTech was the right decision”.
74% of AmanTech graduates have been placed into jobs, locally and internationally. Like Umer, many other students have been employed in the UAE, GCC and some have also been sent for on-the-job trainings to Italy and Japan.
It is due to donors like yourself that we have been able to transform the lives of over 6,700 underprivileged youth of Pakistan. Through vocational and soft skills training, Aman Foundation hopes to build a sustainable future for the youth of Karachi thereby significantly improving their quality and standard of living.
