Naimetullah Mahar hails from Shikarpur, a village in Sindh. The floods of 2010 destroyed his village, resulting in serious financial problems for him and his family. After the calamity, there weren’t many job opportunities left in the village and Naimetullah, even after completing matriculation, was sitting at home waiting for better days.
Naimetullah had a passion for learning, and not even his walking disability due to polio came in the way of that. His brother worked as a paramedic with the AmanAmbulance and mentioned AmanTech to him a few times. He one day found himself travelling to Karachi to appear for the entrance test.
When he visited Aman Tech, Naimetullah knew that his future would be tied to this place.
“AmanTech provided me with a platform to study – to learn and polish my skills. Day by day I was improving, developing a desire for learning and a sense of the world. I would watch my teachers, secretly hoping that maybe one day, I could stand where they stand today”
“Every organization requires skills and experience, but Aman gave me a chance when I had nothing”, Naimetullah says. “Today I have managed to develop a skillset because of AmanTech, and I want to impart the same passion, enthusiasm and love for education to people, who like me, start off with nothing.”
Naimetullah graduated in 2012 and is now a workshop assistant in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning department at AmanTech.
It is due to donors like yourself that we have been able to transform the lives of over 6,700 underprivileged youth of Pakistan. Through vocational and soft skills training, Aman Foundation hopes to build a sustainable future for the youth of Karachi thereby significantly improving their quality and standard of living.
