Help Educate 1000 Students in Pakistan

Every now and then, amidst the regular stories emerges a successful one.

Raza worked at his father’s workshop in an underserved area in Pakistan throughout his formative years. His father’s friend worked for another ambit of AMAN Foundation and realized that Raza had the drive to go even further. He informed Raza about AMANTECH and told him to apply for the Fabrication, Welding & Pipework Trade.

The moment Raza entered the premises, he knew that this is where his future lay. From the moment he enrolled in the institute, he took it upon himself to outperform every student.

“My result on the official test was 98% and I received a Gold Medal from City and Guilds.” Raza’s conviction to strive for better translated in his experience at the vocational institute.

He speaks fondly of teachers’ cooperation and the holistic experience he received while he was a student.

“My favorite classes were Computer and Soft Skills. My teachers invested time helping me gain confidence, build eye contact and taught me how to network. I even learned how to speak English. Before joining AMANTECH I could barely string a sentence together.”

Once Raza graduated, he went to Sharjah where he worked at Gulf Steels Fabrication for a little less than a year. He then switched to Unger Steel in the Middle East for two years as a QAC & Welding Inspector.

He is currently moving to Abu Dhabi to work for Al Hubaish at a handsome salary package.

“I was interviewed by an Engineer for this job based on my prior performance. I was only able to secure this interview because I spoke English.”

Raza intends to further specialize in Welding by doing a course called TWI and aspires to reach Managerial level one day.

Raza’s brother followed suit and joined AMANTECH as well and is now working in Sharjah.

“Anyone can teach you how to do work but who invests time to teach you how to speak, how to dress and how to build your confidence? I was already adept at handling situations such as Fire Drill training when I joined the industry and everything I was taught at AMANTECH has brought me to the point that I’m at today. From a scrubby boy who once worked in a desolate part of Karachi I am now an earning man who can provide for his family.”
