Project Report | Mar 15, 2016
Towards the inspiration

By Kristina Petrova | Theatre specialist

February 13th children, who participate in our theatrical project went to see the play “Twelve months” in the academic theatre named after V.F. Komissarzhevskaya.

Children watched how the fairy tale written by S. Ya. Marshak came to life on the stage. This performance was very profound and sincere and it captivated our kids right away. It felt like the actors were not playing but actually lived on the scene. Every inch of the audience hall was soaked by magic, starting from costumes and scenery to the background music. Thanks to this children spent two hours in a place where miracles live.

However the adventure did not end with simply watching the show. Once the play was over, a surprise awaited the young theatre lovers. Actors of the “Twelve months” performance Evgenia Igumnova (she plays the Queen) and Vladimir Krylov (he plays the April month) gave our kids a guided tour round the theatre.

The children learned the history of the theatre. They felt the acoustics of the audience hall. But the most amazing thing happened on the theatre scene. The children saw the audience hall as the actors see it. Then the kids went behind the scenes. Evgenia showed her dressing room and gave her bracelet to Ksyusha as a gift and the girl enjoyed it so much! Ksyusha will keep it as a memory about the wonderful trip to the theatre as well as about the kind Queen and April who greeted the children so warmly. Kids also visited the theatre wardrobe and saw almost an infinite number of costumes, took a look at the theatre’s puppet cast of characters. They had a chance to touch and closely examine puppet animals that played at the scene. On the way back the children shared their impressions eagerly and were very happy with the new acquaintances as well as with everything they saw at the theatre. Yasha enjoyed speaking to the actors and it felt that all children got inspired and wanted to become true actors who play at the stages of our city. On the first lesson after this trip Misha started to rehearse with great enthusiasm and a new wave of creativity was clearly felt during our classes.

We say a special thank you to our donors! Our journey has started with You!

And a traditional thank you to everyone who believes in us and gives us various support!
