Dear Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert has continued providing assistance to elderly people living in vulnerable circumstances across rural communities in Uganda.
Many elderly people have spent their lives raising families, farming, caring for communities, and contributing to society. In old age, however, some face declining income, limited family support, poor housing, food insecurity, and difficulty accessing basic healthcare.
Through our elderly support intervention, we provide basic needs assistance according to identified community needs. Support may include food, clothing, hygiene items, bedding, household necessities, and compassionate home visits.
Our team also takes time to listen to beneficiaries, understand their challenges, and connect them with available community support. These interactions help address not only material needs but also loneliness and social isolation.
For an elderly person, receiving a food package or essential household item can provide immediate relief. But the knowledge that someone remembers and cares for them can be equally powerful.
Your generosity is helping older people experience dignity rather than neglect and hope rather than isolation.
Thank you for standing with vulnerable elderly community members. Your kindness is helping ensure that those who spent their lives serving their families and communities are not forgotten in their later years.
