Dear Donor,
Ensuring that remote communities receive lifesaving Ebola prevention supplies remains one of the greatest logistical challenges during the outbreak. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Development Alert's newly acquired field motorcycle is helping bridge this gap by improving the delivery of critical supplies to isolated villages along the Uganda–Democratic Republic of Congo border.
Many communities are located far from major roads and health facilities, making transportation difficult and costly. The motorcycle is now enabling our field teams to deliver soap, handwashing materials, health education resources, personal protective supplies, and other essential items directly to schools, markets, boda boda stages, health posts, and community gathering places.
Regular deliveries ensure that public handwashing stations remain functional, educational campaigns continue without interruption, and frontline volunteers have the resources needed to support Ebola prevention activities. The motorcycle is also helping supervisors monitor supply usage and quickly replenish materials where shortages are identified.
This improved mobility has strengthened coordination with local leaders and community volunteers, allowing our teams to reach more villages each week while responding more effectively to emerging needs. Communities no longer wait extended periods for essential prevention supplies, significantly improving preparedness and resilience.
Your support has turned a simple motorcycle into a powerful tool for protecting lives. Every delivery completed strengthens infection prevention, supports frontline volunteers, and ensures that even the most remote communities remain included in Uganda's ongoing Ebola response.
