Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,

To start off, thank you for your donations! These donations will continue to help enhance communities and create change in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Your support towards our student interns allows them to address major challenges in the community. Without the help of our donors, this would not have been possible. The student interns in our program have learned so much from our partners in Nigeria and have worked hard to create a better life for those in Bauchi. For our business program, each team has gone through the process of bonding with their business partner, learning about their lives, realizing the largest issues facing the business, and developing solutions to these issues. For our advocacy and public health programs, teams have gotten to know their project coordinator, learned all about the history and present status of their issue in Nigeria, and developed a campaign to raise awareness for their issue in the community.

Our students in the business, public health, and advocacy programs worked hard throughout the year to improve the lives of those in Bauchi, Nigeria. We are so proud of the student interns for how well they finished the year out. To start off, those in our business program ended the year by finishing their micro grant solution proposal and having one final call with their business partner to go over their innovative solution with them. For our Advocacy and Public Health programs, student interns finished off by drafting and finalizing a full community workshop for facilitators to implement on the ground. These community workshops will be used to inform residents of Sabuwar Kasuwa and Gudum Sayawa communities in Bauchi about several advocacy and public health issues. To officially end the year off, these students had a skype call with their project coordinator where they explained to them exactly how to give the community workshop and what information should be included in it.

As a donor to this project, we are so thankful to have your support as we attempt to create change for those in Bauchi Nigeria. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!

On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.

Wishing you the absolute best!

Sincerely,

Leadership Initiatives

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,

First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Donors’ contributions have allowed Leadership Initiatives and their students to carry out their mission of improving lives in Bauchi through supporting business initiatives and working to develop innovative solutions to their problems. The students in our program have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building connections with our partners in Nigeria to accomplish the goal of fixing the imperative issues that each business is facing.

Our students have been working throughout the fall semester to create and develop innovative solutions special to their business partner. We have been working with a multitude of businesses such as fish farming, tailoring, electronics, and auto-repair. Each of these teams has written a detailed solution proposal, outlining everything that they have worked on these past few months. These developed solutions can help each business increase their profit and create a better life for themselves and their family.

As a donor to this project, your support is an amazing thing to have as we attempt to transform lives. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

Your donations will empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. This will create a generation of leaders given the platform to encourage progress that starts at the local level but impacts many more. Contributions from donors support public health, advocacy, and business development initiatives and create educational campaigns within the local community.

The public health program provides individuals with critical knowledge for the prevention, treatment, and eradication of the most threatening public health issues in sub-Saharan Africa.  The advocacy program provides individuals with essential civic skills and knowledge, building their practical ability to advocate for themselves and others, and enhancing the human rights within their community. These leaders then identify developmental obstacles within their communities, design practical solutions, and create sustainable business models to overcome those obstacles.

Our students work with local NGOs and hospitals in Nigeria to assess and monitor the current public health situation, then design educational campaigns to educate individuals in the community on prevention, risk, and treatment options. Additionally, students create innovative solutions firmly grounded in principles of social entrepreneurship. We have previously created businesses in Bauchi, Nigeria businesses: fish farming, welding, tailoring, motorcycle repair & computer education with job placement. Finally, our students work with local NGOs and government agencies in Nigeria to build human rights education programs, then design educational campaigns to train community leaders and develop teaching materials to carry out advocacy initiatives.

As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help work on their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments! Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone's heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating. Wishing you, your family, and your friends the absolute best!

Sincerely,

Leadership Initiatives

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

We are going strong through 2020, and our reach keeps expanding rapidly all thanks to all of our supporters. Due to this tremendous support, we have more IIP teams and business partners than ever before. We couldn't have done it without your kindness.

This past summer, students at Leadership Initiative's International Leadership and Business Tier I and Tier II Summits were offered the chance to apply to form IIP teams of their own. These students were granted this opportunity after their success working with various partners in Nigeria, including an auto-body repair shop, orphan care centers, tailoring businesses, farmers, and carpentry. During this experience, students also received guidance from experts, such as business CEOs, mentors from the State Department, and members of the Nigerian Embassy. Even with our programs being over zoom due to COVID-19, our students' hard work allowed for businesses in Nigeria to receive the support they need. Because of their amazing proposals, we also were able to start several new businesses from scratch.

Now, many students from these summer programs have joined LI through the International Internship Program (IIP), and they have become a part of a similar, year-long commitment to their business partners. With such a spectacular increase in IIP teams this academic year, we are especially appreciative of any donations. To all of the donors that have allowed us to reach this success: we cannot thank you enough!

We thank you again to our donors and supporters because you truly make a big difference in our reach. By supporting us, you are supporting communities in sub-Saharan Africa that are grateful for your contribution. Your generosity has helped us create more job opportunities for both adult business owners and orphans. Change can happen anywhere at any time -- and by helping us, you are impacting lives across the globe. Thank you again for all that you do!

Best,
The Leadership Initiatives Team
