Every child deserves a schoolbag, not a weapon; a classroom, not a courtroom; a safe home, not a refugee camp. Around the world, children are being recruited by armed groups, sexually abused, displaced, denied protection, or punished by systems meant to defend them. Amnesty exposes these abuses, protects children's rights, and pushes for justice so children can recover safety, dignity, and a future.
A child should not need courage to survive childhood. But many face war, abuse, recruitment, displacement, forced pregnancy, detention, or silence when institutions fail them. Violence steals school, safety, trust, and the chance to imagine a future. Silence steals childhood again. Amnesty works to expose abuses, protect children's rights, push governments and courts to act, and bring international pressure when local systems fail.
Amnesty protects children through PROBE, PROTECT, and DEMAND JUSTICE. We uncover abuse, verify evidence, and expose violations affecting children at home, in schools, courts, detention, conflict, and violent environments. We use that evidence to help children know their rights, support families and schools to detect harm, and pressure authorities to act. When systems fail, Amnesty brings legal action, advocacy, and international pressure so hidden abuse becomes protection and accountability.
This project helps Amnesty fight for a world where children are safe, heard, and protected before harm defines their lives. It exposes abuses in conflict, detention, schools, homes, and digital spaces; defends children's right to education, safety, dignity, and recovery; pressures governments and courts to act; and brings failures before international mechanisms. Because a child should be in school, not in danger. Childhood is not a benefit. It is a right.
