The micro-project seeks to raise funds for Tuition, Books Health insurance & footwears to permit 25 children born from conflict related sexual violence to start the 2024/2025 school year & confidently participate in academic business without feeling inferior and/or stigmatized. It will protect scholars from forced child marriages, trafficking and exploitation; eliminates radicalization and contribute to break the eminent cycle of violence due to illiteracy and stigmatization.
Absence of schools materials impedes access to formal education for children born from conflict related sexual violence. A vicious school boycott campaign that closed many public schools leaving children at the mercy of private profit oriented individuals making basic primary education elusive for this category of children. The project will equally contribute to build the self-esteem of scholars through soft skills acquisition as they organize & lead activities in partner schools & communities
The short term solution lies in the provision of back-to-school packs and prompts payment of tuition fees. In the medium term, the project provides opportunities for the beneficiary scholars to organize and lead community engagement activities as they exist as an organized group. It shall enhance the development of their full potentials and participation in life of their communities.
Considered as haven inherited killings from their genitors, children fathered by belligerents are socially excluded. Without education, the possibility of believing in the heralded curse & embracing violence early in life is high. It will enable them to exist as a group & provide a platform to mobilize & build a community of practice standing against sexual violence in conflict.
