Funds raised through GlobalGiving support our general water fund, so we can use your gift where it's most needed. While we may not be assigning your donation to a specific project, rest assured 100% of what we receive will fund water projects in the areas of greatest need.
One of the countries your gift could go to is Rwanda. When we met 72-year-old Jean, he was sitting on a grassy hillside eagerly watching our local partner put the finishing touches on a brand new tap stand. His future tap stand.
Right away he boasted, “Every day I come to see if they are finishing! I am here to see water flowing.”
Like many others in his community, Jean has spent years making the same long trek down to an unprotected spring to collect water. Despite the fact that the water sometimes causes sickness, the walk is the worst part for Jean – the climb, distance, and weight of the Jerry Can have all become incredibly difficult for a man of his age.
But with a new tap stand soon to be providing clean water just minutes from home, Jean had reason to be excited for the future.
