Shanta Foundation is implementing THREE teacher housing projects in Southern Shan State, Myanmar, in 2024. These are costly infrastructure projects due to rising material costs, transporting these materials, and extra labor. However, the changes made by providing trained educators in these rural villages are life-changing.
Most communities identify teacher housing as a priority when partnering with Shanta. The villages are very remote, and the roads are typically rough and impassable during rainy seasons. This prohibits teachers from traveling from their homes to the villages on a daily basis. If the village can offer adequate housing for educators, classes can continue as they should without interruption.
Let's keep these kids in school and learning! Your contributions matter. Please consider supporting Shanta Foundation to continue building teacher houses and many other development programs to eliminate extreme poverty forever!
