This year we are once again looking at a record number of calls coming in via the international toll free crisis line, 866-USWOMEN.
Once of these victims is Remia. She called the crisis center in the middle of the night our time from a hospital bed. Remia sustained severe injuries from her husband. Because of donations to this program, Remia was able to speak to an AODVC advocate for over an hour, the only light in the darkness of the worst moment of her life. Since then we have gotten Remia back home safely with her daughter to the USA. This is possible because of the donations received giving battered mothers minutes on the crisis line with a trained advocate or case manager.
Remia is only on of the nearly 600 victims that contact us in desperation each year. Minutes For Moms helps save lives, one battered mother at a time.
