Help a VisuallyChallenged to secure Master'sDegree

Indian Association for the Blind (lAB), based in Madurai, South India, is an NGO which works at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visual challenges. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, training, employment and rehabilitation facilities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children, youths and adults with a special focus on those from rural areas.

The public is over-estimating the problems of visually challenged. As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, only the educated visually challenged can change the perspective of public over them. Especially, a master’s degree can open many career doors, including certain career fields, advancement opportunities and higher salaries.

We have raised totally $604 through this project. Without a doubt, it made them to succeed both socially and economically by enabling them to develop self-confidence, gaining information about the surrounding world and shine equally among the sighted people in the society. We extend our heartfelt thanks to GlobalGiving for providing us with this wonderful platform which helps us connect with donors from all around the world. Now they can spend more time on their studies without worrying about their finances.
