Obtaining a college education is no easy task, but for students with visual disabilities, the path to completing a degree program is lined with unique challenges and barriers. Indian Association for the Blind (lAB) Madurai based NGO from South India, working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visually challenged. It was founded in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr.S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those from the rural background.
We are very happy to share you that we have received $820.04 USD through 99 donations. Blind and visually impaired students face unique challenges and barriers when it comes to higher education. This, however, does not mean that earning a degree is impossible. Several organizations and schools are dedicated to making college education accessible to the visually impaired, and today’s technology now offers a wide range of tools and devices for successful learning. These technologies are now attainable only with the philanthropic efforts of global giving.
A master's degree is often necessary to secure a profession and advance within some fields. Many careers that require master's degrees are typically found in sectors such as research and academia. Professionals with a master's degree often benefit from higher pay and increased job responsibilities. So with this drive in global giving, visually challenged too can place them this much.
Having an education is important because it affects future career possibilities. A lot of jobs require at least a high school diploma, but most careers require some type of higher education that contains some kind of knowledge and experience in a specific field. Once again, we want to thank the philanthropist for their contributions and also the GlobalGiving who paved the way for us to utilize their donations from all over the world. We look forward to raising more for this cause. As always, we, along with GlobalGiving, will do our best in reaching out to generous donors across the Globe and will strive to bring happiness on the face of each of our beneficiaries.
