Thank you for taking the time to learn about Grameen Foundation's FarmerLink program, which supports coconut farmers in the Philippines.
In the Philippines, coconuts are the primary crop produced by farmers alike, and especially smallholder farmers. But severe weather conditions can be a major risk to production and to coconut harvest. Knowing what to do in advance of these conditions can help farmers bridge to better conditions, avoiding catastrophes like drought or even typhoons. Grameen Foundation’s Early Warning System helps farmers to be prepared by sending SMS texts with farm management reminders and strategies for dealing with the pending conditions.
We're pleased to report donors have contributed the needed funds to continue the Early Warning System in 2018, so in light of this support we are deactivating this GlobalGiving fundraiser. Additional support can be delivered to Grameen Foundation directly for future efforts to support smallholder farmers in the Philippines.
With gratitude,
The staff and leaders at Grameen Foundation
