PROGRESS AND FUTURE PLANS

The Ngao Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities and support to underprivileged children in Kenya. This report aims to highlight the foundation's recent achievements, challenges faced and plans to ensure the continued success of its programs.

Academic Achievements: Currently, two students supported by The Ngao Foundation are in the final stages of completing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. This accomplishment is a testament to the foundation's commitment to empowering students and enabling them to pursue higher education.

Additionally, 12 students have registered for their Grade Two NITA examination, while 5 and 6 students have registered for their Grade One and Grade Three NITA examinations, respectively. These numbers reflect the foundation's efforts to provide quality education and support to children at various stages of their academic journey.

Challenges Faced: Kenya is currently experiencing a difficult time with increasing fuel prices, which has had a significant impact on the foundation's operations. Rising costs have made it challenging to sustain the programs and provide the necessary resources to the students. Despite these difficulties, the foundation remains dedicated to its mission and continues to seek solutions to overcome these obstacles.
Mentorship Sessions: All students supported by The Ngao Foundation have actively participated in mentorship sessions. These sessions play a crucial role in guiding and inspiring the students, helping them develop essential life skills, and providing them with the necessary support to succeed academically and personally.
Soccer Tournament: In the spirit of fostering community engagement and promoting physical activity, The Ngao Foundation is planning a soccer tournament this Christmas season. This event aims to bring together students and youth from various backgrounds, promoting unity and teamwork while providing a platform for healthy competition.
Future Plans: The Ngao Foundation has experienced rapid growth in its programs, necessitating the need for a secure home for the students. To ensure a safe and conducive learning environment, the foundation is seeking funds from well-wishers to purchase land and construct a permanent facility. This initiative will not only provide stability but also enable the foundation to expand its reach and impact more children in need.

Conclusion: The Ngao Foundation's dedication to providing educational opportunities and support to underprivileged children in Kenya is commendable. Despite the challenges faced, the foundation has achieved significant milestones, with students excelling academically and actively participating in mentorship sessions. The upcoming soccer tournament reflects the foundation's commitment to holistic development and community engagement. However, to sustain and expand its programs, The Ngao Foundation seeks financial assistance to acquire land and build a secure home for the students. By supporting this cause, well-wishers can contribute to the education and future success of these deserving children.

Progress Report

Selected club ambassaadors in school

This report explains the progress made from April to July. We received the results of the 11 students who did their grade 3 exams (under the electrical and electrical training course) in April. These exams were marked by the National Industrial Training Association (NITA). The candidates included 10 boys and One girl, all of them passed exemplary well the girl scored first class in her class. They have proceeded to grade two where they are continuing with their studies.

In June we entered into a collaboration with three schools in informal settlements, where we launched children's clubs that are aimed at spreading information and awareness on important issues such as hygiene, and the importance of drinking safe and clean water. Through these clubs, we discovered the challenges these children go through at home and school. We have collaborated in providing scholastic materials to those children in need. We have also donated materials to be used during art and crafts sessions.

One of our beneficiaries graduated from the technical university of Mombasa with a diploma in supply chain management and procurement. We continue to support girl child education through empowerment initiatives, which is why in May we introduced tailoring and dressmaking as both production and training. This will provide a platform for them to use their creativity and improve their new skills. For those teenage men and women who dropped out of school and have a passion for tailoring and fashion design, this initiative is for them.

We expect in the next months the training to have picked on very well, In August schools will be closing for a two weeks holiday so we will be welcoming back our students. Five students in the electrical and electronic class will be taking their grade two exams, we are also in the process of implementing a curriculum for solar installation training as a part of the electrical and electronic class.

CHALLENGES.

We continue to experience funding problems, hence we are urging you to please consider supporting these children and teenagers in fulfilling their dreams and passion. Share our projects with your friends and families, this will help us massively.

Project's progress report

Ongoing high school mentorship session

This report will give detailed information on the progress made regarding the project. This progress is for the months of December (partly) January, February and March. During this period the beneficiaries of this project, children in particular. We have initiated mentorship sessions for those students in secondary school and vocational training centres where our beneficiaries attend school. Over 20 vocational training, students have benefited from the mentorship sessions, 6 students from high school and 4 who recently graduated from high school.

The mentorship topics such as mindset, attitude, self-image, decision making etc... are critical in a learner's journey, especially those in high school who are going through many changes in their personal life and social growth. Our rehabilitative and empowerment program continues to grow currently we have 21 members and an increase of 3 more students since the last time reported, 9 students in this initiative will be starting their first grade c exams on 3rd April 2023. The aim of this initiative is to provide skills to the youth rescued from the streets, these skills will enable them to gain employment or even create their own employment opportunities.

This year we have 2 students(girls) who will be doing their national school exams. This is their final year in secondary school. The other 4 students continue to perform generally well considering their backgrounds. The organisation continues to support them in every way possible even though the budget is limited. Donate to this project on the ongoing little-by-little campaign which is starting today and will continue until 7th April 2023.

Challenges.

Funding is a big challenge regarding the studies for the beneficiaries of this program. The students who are starting exams today do not have enough tools needed for their exams. We seek your support, please help these young ones achieve their dreams by donating to this project, any amount will assist someone to stay in school.
