Tanzania is experiencing an unprecedented increase in the number of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). Despite discrepancies in statistics, the number of vulnerable children in the country is increasing. HIV/AIDS induced orphan hood that constitute 58.8% of all orphans in Tanzania. TA Foundation plans to support education materials to vulnerable children who have dropped out of school and those OVC students who lack education materials so that they could go on with their studies.
In spite of the roles played by the government and other organizations to support the provision of education supports to MVC, but the situation has become difficult to eliminate because of the highly increasing number of vulnerable children. The situation has caused by various reasons including divorce, death of parents and lack of resources to meet their basic needs. The project intends to support 73 MVC in Mbeya Rural with education so that they could proceed with their studies comfortably.
TA Foundation plans to support education materials to in schools students who having in-access to education materials and out of school Most Vulnerable Children who have dropped out of schools due to lack of education materials supports. Caretakers of the vulnerable children's will also be incapacitated with entrepreneurship skills so that they could establish small Income Generating Activities (IGAs) for the aim of getting money for supporting the vulnerable students
The project will support 73 Orphans and Most Vulnerable Children with education materials that will enable even the dropped out students due to lack of education related materials to go back to school to continue with their education. The project will mitigate income problem that facing MVC's caretakers through developing and training on entrepreneurship skills that will solve the issue of income that seems to be the big challenge among MVC in Tanzania and Sub-Saharan countries as the whole.
