Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thanks to your generous support, 150 children, 74 boys and 76 girls, are walking into school for the very first time in rural Kajiado County, Kenya. Each one of these children represents a family whose hopes for the future are now a little brighter because of you.
In rural Kajiado, we work to support children, especially girls, to access quality learning by creating safe, inclusive spaces where every child can learn, grow, and reimagine their future without fear or limitation. But getting there is never simple. In patriarchal pastoral communities like ours, women and girls face significant challenges, including limited access to education, which are made worse by poverty and drought. For many families, sending a young child to an ECCDE centre means overcoming distance, tradition, and deeply rooted inequalities, all at once.
At the heart of our programme is a belief that early childhood is not just about getting children into classrooms, it is about what happens when they get there. Through foundational, play-based learning, we nurture the whole child: building cognitive skills like early literacy and numeracy alongside the social and emotional skills children need to communicate, collaborate, and persevere. This holistic approach ensures that every child we enrol is not simply present in school, but genuinely equipped with the foundation they need to thrive in primary school and beyond.
Your donation is helping us do exactly that. Through our Teaching at the Right Level approach, we have already positively impacted over 3,000 learners in Kajiado County, Kenyewa/Poka ward and this new cohort of 150 children brings us closer to our goal of reaching 600. This progress builds on a proud milestone from last year: 140 learners graduated from our ECCDE programme and moved on to Grade 1 with the right foundation skills, 67 girls and 63 boys. Their joy and pride were evident throughout the celebrations, as they received recognition for their hard work and stepped forward with confidence into the next stage of their academic journey. These children are proof that when a child starts school on time and with the right support, they truly thrive.
We believe that when a child starts school on time, the ripple effect reaches their family, their mother's confidence, and their entire community. We are just getting started, and we are grateful you are on this journey with us. With your continued support, we will reach every child who deserves this chance.
With deep gratitude
