Elite Star Foundation is working to protect children in 50 schools across North-Central Nigeria by training teachers, empowering students, engaging parents, and strengthening school safeguarding systems. Violence against children remains a critical challenge in Nigeria. Nearly 60% of children experience abuse before turning 18, yet many schools and communities lack the skills and systems to recognize or respond effectively. Fear, stigma, and limited reporting mechanisms leave many children without help. Without stronger child protection structures, countless children remain vulnerable to lifelong physical, emotional, and psychological harm.
Elite Star Foundation will partner with 50 schools to establish sustainable child protection systems. We will train teachers and school leaders, educate students on their rights and personal safety, engage parents and community members, and introduce safeguarding policies, reporting channels, and referral pathways. Together, these actions will help prevent abuse, improve early intervention, and ensure survivors receive timely support.
This project will help create safer schools for thousands of children while building a lasting culture of child protection. Trained educators, informed parents, and effective safeguarding systems will continue protecting children long after the project ends. The partnerships and model developed through this initiative can be replicated in more schools and communities, strengthening child protection efforts across Nigeria.
