Help 50 Deaf Learn & Earn Through Sewing

Thanks to the continued support of our donors and partners, the Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) is making steady progress in empowering Deaf women with practical skills that lead to sustainable livelihoods.

DWAF is collaborating with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to provide free stitching and tailoring training for Deaf women. The program equips participants with the technical skills and confidence needed to earn an independent income and support their families.

To help graduates transition from training to employment, DWAF also provides sewing machines to selected skilled Deaf women, enabling them to start home-based businesses or secure work in the garment and textile sector.

Over the past three months, five sewing machines have been distributed to skilled Deaf women who successfully completed their training. These women are now using their skills to generate income, improve their financial independence, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

This initiative is about more than learning a skill—it is about restoring confidence, creating opportunities, and promoting the economic inclusion of Deaf women in Pakistan.
