Many rural girls in Ghana are at risk of early marriage due to poverty, lack of education support, and limited awareness of their rights. When girls drop out of school early, they face higher risks of teenage pregnancy, economic hardship, and reduced life opportunities. This project will provide education support, mentorship, and community awareness programs to help 200 vulnerable girls stay in school and avoid early marriage.
In many rural communities, poverty and cultural pressures lead families to marry off girls at a young age. Limited access to education and financial support increases dropout rates, especially among girls from poor households. Early marriage often results in school dropout, health risks, and reduced future opportunities for affected girls.
This project will provide school support, mentorship, life skills training, and community engagement programs to keep girls in school. It will also work with parents and community leaders to raise awareness about the importance of girls' education and the risks of early marriage. At-risk girls will receive targeted support to remain in school.
This project will help 200 rural girls stay in school, complete their education, and avoid early marriage. It will improve their future job opportunities, reduce teenage pregnancy rates, and strengthen gender equality and empowerment in rural communities.
