Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination helps protect girls against HPV infections that can cause cervical cancer. However, some families face barriers to accessing reliable vaccination services and information. Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to help 200 eligible girls in Ghana access HPV vaccination through collaboration with qualified healthcare providers and immunization services, while supporting caregivers with information about vaccine eligibility and the importance of prevention.
Cervical cancer is a significant health concern, and HPV vaccination is an important preventive measure. Some families may have limited information about HPV, vaccination eligibility, or where vaccines are available. Financial difficulties, transportation costs, and limited access to health services can also prevent eligible girls from receiving recommended vaccination on time.
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to help 200 eligible girls access HPV vaccination by working with qualified healthcare providers, health facilities, and community partners. The project will provide caregivers with accurate information about HPV prevention, help identify eligible girls, and connect families with appropriate vaccination services. Assistance will be based on healthcare guidance, individual needs, and available funding.
The project aims to improve access to HPV vaccination for 200 eligible girls in Ghana and increase caregiver awareness of cervical cancer prevention. Timely vaccination, in accordance with national immunization guidance, can help protect girls against HPV types responsible for many cervical cancer cases. In the long term, the project seeks to contribute to cervical cancer prevention and improved health outcomes for future generations.
