The Challenge - Most of the work of Herts Young Homeless is with young people age 16-24 who have had difficulty securing and maintaining safe accommodation. The HYH free service to these vulnerable teenagers and young people includes advice and information, mediation, Nightstop Herts , mental health and substance misuse support and education plus specialist prevention services. Without funding the cycle of homelessness continues to anther generation.
All the funds you raise will contribute to helping vulnerable young people who are either homeless or faced with homelessness find a safe place to live, receive support when they need it and have someone to turn to at a time when they feel there is nowhere else to go. Homelessness can lead to and result from, issues of drug abuse, alcohol dependency and poor mental health - your donations make a real difference to breaking that cycle - empowering individuals to make positive, informed decisions.
From education in schools and family mediation through to supporting 16-24 year olds in safe, secure temporary accommodation and on to their first homes the HYH free service empowers young people to be able to deal with the difficult situations they face and gives them the ability and confidence to 'do it themselves' and ultimately find stability. Every single night you fund of 150 Nightstop nights is that first step out of homelessness for up to 150 young people in Hertfordshire
