Bhumi's HELO program is a transformative initiative to provide holistic life skills education to underprivileged children. The program focuses on fostering self and social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making through a Whole School Approach. It will help children in schools to learn and apply life skills, the HELO program seeks to expand its impact.
Many children in underprivileged communities lack access to essential life skills education, which is crucial for their overall development. These skills are necessary for children to avoid difficulties in self-awareness, self-management, relationship building, and responsible decision-making, which hampers their personal growth and ability to navigate life's challenges.
Bhumi's HELO program addresses this gap by integrating social-emotional learning (SEL) into the education system. The program provides tailored lesson plans for grades 3-5, conducts development workshops for adults, and collaborates with educators and caregivers to create a cohesive learning environment. By focusing on SEL, the HELO program ensures that children develop critical life skills, fostering self and social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, & responsible decision-making.
By embedding SEL into the educational experience, Bhumi nurtures a generation of socially and emotionally aware individuals who are better equipped to contribute positively to society. The program's extensive reach, reflected in the 135 workshops conducted for 982 teachers, and the benefit to 7,479 children and 511 educators, highlights its potential to create lasting change. As children develop essential life skills, they become more resilient, empathetic, and capable of making decisions.
