We are already heating up our next Hearing Health Tour (the last of this year), which will be held on Saturday, October 21st at the Victoria DSpinay Pubic School, located in the province of Panama Oeste. This time, we will be accompanied by a delegation from the Panama´s Ministry of Education (MEDUCA), as well as two allied foundations from El Salvador which we have been closely working: They are Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau (FRMA) and Fundación Su Niño No Puede Esperar (FUSNINPE) that want to get a closer grasp on our work in vulnerable rural communities in terms of hearing health, to replicate and better this same kind of iniciative in their country.
In this tour we are expecting to serve 150 children (0 to 17) from the community, to whom we will perform the full battery of hearing tests.
In relation to our last Tour celebrated in April, in the community of Superación Campesina; as mentioned above, 12 children were detected with hearing problems, who were then referred to our clinic to re-test them.
In this second phase of the project, we confirmed that no child suffered from permanent hearing loss, but we did identify children with ear infections that, with proper attention and early warning to their parents, could be treated in a correct and timely manner.
We always will be thankful with you for your support in our work!
