Dear friends of the Ouelessebougou Alliance,
As you know, the health situation in most of West Africa is dire. Nonetheless, thanks to your contributions, the Ouelessebougou Alliance has been able to make a difference in the Ouelessebougou region of Mali.
Since initiating health plans in several villages in 2008, the Alliance has seen great success in disease prevention and reduction - villages with health plans have seen up to a 86% decrease in malaria and up to a 96% decrease in diarrhea incidents since the inception of the plans.
This week, the Alliance's Field Director Anounou Sissoko gave the following report about Alliance village Dialakoro Keleya, "The Alliance initiated and trained a heath committee 3 years ago. That committee has been very effective and has contributed to the good health of the population of Dialakoro Keleya; the health committee knows if the cases of malaria increase or decrease. Everybody gets together and cleans the village twice a month, they put bleach in the wells in order to have drinkable water. The Alliance constructed two wells, one in the school yard and one at the center of the village."
Thanks to your donations, we are helping to improve the lives of Ouelessebougou villagers.
With kind regards,
Josh Molina
